Back up or move your log
Your log lives only in this browser. Download a backup file to keep a copy or move it to another device or browser, then restore it there. How backups work.
Using the fasting log
- Finish a timer on the timer page and it appears here automatically.
- Days with a saved session are highlighted in the calendar. Select a day to see its sessions.
- Use Edit to correct a start or end time, or Delete to remove a session.
- Forgot to use the timer? Open “Add a past session” and enter the times.
Reading your sessions
| Entry | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 16.2 hours · Tue, Oct 6, 8:00 PM | The actual length and when it started |
| Ended … · planned 16h | When you pressed Finish and the duration you had chosen |
| Added manually | A session you entered yourself, with no planned duration |
The log shows what happened; it does not score sessions or compare them with a goal. Shorter sessions are as valid an entry as longer ones.
The water log
Add each drink in millilitres or US fluid ounces; the day’s total is shown in both. The last seven days appear underneath so you can see a pattern at a glance. The tracker has no target, because how much fluid a person needs varies with body size, activity, climate and health. If you have a condition that affects fluid, such as kidney or heart disease, follow your clinician’s advice. One US fluid ounce is 29.57 mL, so 250 mL is about 8.5 fl oz.
Backing up and moving your log
Because the log is stored only in this browser, it disappears if you clear your browsing data, and it does not appear on your other devices. “Download backup” saves everything, including sessions, water entries and your weekly plan, as a small .json file. On another device, open this page and choose “Restore from backup”; entries are merged and duplicates are skipped. “Export sessions” creates a .csv file you can open in Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers. See back up your fasting log for step-by-step instructions.
Questions
Can anyone else see my log?
No. It is stored only in this browser on this device and is never uploaded. Anyone using the same browser profile on the same device could open it, as with any website data.
How far back does the log go?
Sessions are kept until you delete them. Water entries older than about 13 months are removed automatically to keep storage small.
